Embodying the Presence of God – A Retreat for Women

Women have a unique capacity for understanding transformation based on internal movements of their biology, anatomy and life cycle.   Over the years, it has occurred to me that it could be very interesting to gather women together to discuss how this inner wisdom informs contemplative spirituality and our commitment to be in a deep relationship with God.  This retreat is the first of its kind and an opportunity to embark on an adventure of self-discovery with a group of like-minded women.

What can the wisdom of the body tell us about how to explore mystery, darkness, internal processes, interior space, creativity, and transformation?  What can the ebb and flow of the life reveal about consent and surrender to the Indwelling Spirit?

This silent retreat offers each woman an opportunity to explore her inner depth to discover who she is in relationship to herself, others and God and prayerfully ponder how the body reveals and provides many answers to some of life’s mysterious questions.

There will be time for prayerful movement (yoga), Centering Prayer, presentation, dialogue and reflections on our shared experiences.  Sharing will be available on a one to one basis and in small groups. We will offer opportunities for massage and time for solitude to walk the paths around St. Mary’s for those that feel so inclined.

Our retreat promises to be creative and revealing and a discovery process.  Join us for this adventure into the mystery of our unique embodiment of the Divine Mother.

The retreat will be led by Gail Fitzpatrick-Hopler and Hadley Morris and it begins on Friday, May 3rd and ends on Tuesday morning, May 7th.  It will be our pleasure to journey with you, join us!
