Guided Group Retreats

Guided retreats are offered for various types of groups (congregations, seminarians, clergy, vestries, etc.).  The size of the group must be at least 12 people.  The format of a typical retreat consists of a series of meditations focused on a particular spiritual theme offered by the retreat guide.  Each day is structured to allow time for prayer, reflection and recreation, usually within a setting of silence.  Retreats begin on Friday evening and conclude on Sunday morning, following worship.  However, arrangements can be made for longer retreats.  Retreat guides are drawn from a pool of available Episcopal clergy and seminary faculty.  Please contact St. Mary’s Sewanee and we are happy to work with you to design a retreat that provides a meaningful spiritual experience for your group. For more information or to reserve your own group guided retreat, please call us at (800) 728-1659 or (931) 598-5342, or email us at
