God the Shepherd, God the Weaver
February 13 - 15, Friday 6 p.m. until Sunday 11 a.m.Scripture describes God as both weaver and good shepherd. This is only natural, for weaving and working with wool for warmth, clothing and beauty are among the very earliest and most necessary human activities. In this retreat we will seek God as we ruminate on some of the mysteries that underlie these images of God and human work. If you knit, spin, crochet or have a small loom and would like to bring your projects to work on, please do.
Presenter:
Roberta C. Bondi, , D. Phil., is a retired Professor of
Church History from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta. Dr. Bondi is an author, Weavings writer, and
an avid knitter who spins her own yarn. She plans to bring a portable loom and a spinning wheel for participants to try during this retreat. Publications
