The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

March 12 – 14, Friday 6 p.m. until Sunday 11 a.m.

In this retreat participants will reflect on the early Christian resurrection proclamation: what it was, and how it was likely to have been understood by those who first heard the news. We will examine the various attempts that have been made to explain what had happened at the first Easter, in ways that differ from the Christian perspective. Those forms of explanation that are currently most fashionable will be considered with special care. Dr. Bryan will lead an exploration of what early Christians saw as the consequences of their claim. What did it mean that they believed Christ had been raised from the dead?
