Emily Wallace, Chef & Food Director

Emily Wallace, SMS Chef, is originally from East TN, but has lived in various parts of the United States as well as a couple years in Berlin, Germany. For the past 18 years she has resided on
the Mountain. She is a Certified Chef, graduated from Washburne Culinary Institute in Chicago, Illinois.

Emily enjoys planning and preparing for our guests so that when they leave our center their hearts and minds have found some peace while their bodies have been
nourished.  She pays special attention to the foods used to nourish and sustain our bodies, but equally is as important is the love used to prepare the food. You can taste it in every delicious bite!

When Emily is not feeding the souls at St. Mary’s Sewanee, she enjoys spending time with family, especially keeping up with her 2-year-old granddaughter. She loves to read when there is time and finds great peace in the outdoors that soothe the spiritual soul.
