To keep the retreat center sparkling takes a tremendous amount of work and is a labor of Love for the SMS Housekeeping Team.

Brandy Meeks is a native to the mountain community and she enjoys spending time with her husband of more than 17 years and their three beautiful children. She finds joy in cooking for her large family, but likes coming to work with a small staff. Her bright spirit and positive energy are brought to the retreat center everyday.

Trish Thomas is another bright light at SMS. She and her husband have been at home on the mountain for more than 26 years. They enjoy the outdoors kayaking, gardening, and the breathtaking bluff views. If Trish is not cooking for her family she might be relaxing on a beach somewhere. Whatever she is doing it probably involves her family, especially her precious grandbabies, her “whole world”! Trish applied to SMS just looking for part time work, but soon found so much more. “It is such a lovely place with a peaceful environment. I really love the different spiritual experiences during the retreats.”
