The Rev. Regan M. Schutz

Director of Programming

Regan was named Director of Programming at St. Mary’s Sewanee in January 2019. She also serves as Priest-in-Charge at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Shelbyville.

A native of Oregon, Regan earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. After time in New York City, she returned to Oregon for 12 years where she was actively involved in the lay leadership of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Portland. She earned a Master of Divinity in 2017 from the University of the South’s School of Theology. Her past experience includes serving as Curate at Otey Memorial Parish in Sewanee in 2017; for eight years, she was director of training at the Godly Play Foundation.

“I am eager to engage with all who love St. Mary’s Sewanee in building up God’s Kingdom by developing new programming opportunities and diverse experiences for listening for God. This call is truly a blessing to my ministry,” she said.

Regan lives in Sewanee with her husband, Paul (who is the director of marketing and communications at the Beecken Center at the School of Theology) and their two daughters.
