About Bethany Sylvan:

In the stacks in a rural library in Talladega, Alabama, Bethany found a book about yoga. From this book, with its black-and-white photos of Indian gurus in turbans, she began to develop her practice at the age of fourteen. While originally a form of rebellion and dissension, she grew to find holistic benefit from her daily sun salutations. Her chronic insomnia, joint pain, and headaches from fibromyalgia improved; and frankly, she just found the practice fun.

Three decades later, she is still reaping the rewards of yoga into middle age. “There is something about yoga that opens up and softens the heart for healing,” she says. Bethany’s moving meditation became a prayer and a time of worship. She is excited to share the stillness and divine connection that yoga ushers in.

In 2018, she earned her 200 RYT through Sacred Glow Yoga with Melissa Scott and Jasper Elliot Wolfe in Birmingham, Alabama. Aside from yoga studios, you can find Bethany backpacking, cooking, doing Crossfit, and dabbling in the arts.

Lunch is included in the workshop fee.
