Offered online via Zoom – Saturday, February 20th & Sunday, February 21st, 2021, 10AM-3PM
A 4-part Series (2 on each day with a break in between) utilizing Gentle Yoga, Meditation, Art Making & Journaling
This series will explore the importance of intentionally spending time in cultivating positive states of mind and heart. Our minds are naturally wired to focus more on what’s going wrong rather than what’s going right. With all the challenge and stress we faced in 2020, this past year has ramped up, amplified, and even reinforced this inherent negativity bias. With this in mind, it’s absolutely essential to our health and well being to intentionally recognize and savor the positive experiences in our lives to bring in balance, clarity, and a whole picture perspective.
Classes in this series will utilize gentle yoga, meditation, art making and journaling to examine the positive states of ease, gratitude, connection, and joy. At the start of class, the presenter will lead attendees in yoga and meditation practices designed to nurture and strengthen these states from within. For deeper reflection, the presenter will then provide prompts for art making and journaling, allowing attendees to explore more personally what these states look like to the individual. Each class will include a recording of the meditation as well as a handout of the yoga flow, so individuals can continue the practice on their own. No prior experience in yoga, meditation, or art making necessary.
Presenter Catherine M Harris, ATR-BC, RYT 200
Since 2007, Catherine has worked as a board certified art therapist, a master’s level mental health professional engaging clients in their own art making, creativity, and discussion to help individuals find ease among life’s many challenges. In addition to operating HeartSpace Wellness Studio, Catherine also partners with other organizations, including Mindful Nashville and Liberation Yoga, to provide yoga and mindfulness classes to the local community.
