Becca Impello of HereNowYoga, has been a physical therapist and yoga instructor for over 20 years in her hometown of Birmingham, AL. In this abbreviated online workshop, Becca leads you through discussions about our capacity for sensory exploration going far beyond the classic five senses. Through gentle yoga, breathwork and mindfulness meditation with visualization you will cultivate greater and more distinct awareness of the wonder of our physical being and its intricate connection to our energetic, mental and spiritual beings.
Gordon Peerman lead a discussion on Wendell Berry’s writings, a Kentucky novelist, poet, essayist, environmental activist, cultural critic, and farmer.
Gordon is an appreciator of what he calls Wendell Berry’s "Contemplative Vision" — on matters of love and loss, eternity and the passage of time, beauty and its desecration, silence and stillness and our many distractions, and finally, the value of good work and what Berry calls our "membership" with land and neighbor.
Tom Ward, retired University of the South Chaplain and leader in the Centering Prayer community, will lead the October 30th online workshop on the practice of Centering Prayer. Tom has led Centering Prayer retreats and workshops at St. Mary’s Sewanee for more than 30 years.
Since he retired as chaplain of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tom has dedicated his time to teaching others the method of Centering Prayer. He has served on the St. Mary’s Sewanee Board and been a presenter/facilitator of retreats and workshops for decades. His passion for sharing the spiritual gifts of the Centering Prayer practice are extraordinary.
