Open the Door to Spiritual Renewal

Provide scholarships so no one is turned away from a life‑giving retreat because of cost.

Many who feel called to retreat are also those carrying heavy responsibilities—clergy, nonprofit leaders, caregivers, and individuals in transition. Often, they are the ones least able to afford time away.

While retreats offer profound spiritual renewal, financial barriers prevent some from saying yes to the quiet their souls desperately need.

When access to retreat is limited, discernment is delayed, burnout deepens, and spiritual healing is postponed.

St. Mary’s Sewanee believes in access to the sacred work on retreats. Our mission calls us to welcome all who seek God, regardless of financial means.

Through retreat scholarships, we provide financial assistance for individuals and groups who need support to experience the peace, prayer, and clarity found here.

Scholarships help cover:

  • Lodging in private hermitages or guest rooms

  • Participation in guided or personal retreats

  • Time and space for rest, renewal, and reconnection

Will you help someone say yes to a retreat they otherwise could not afford?

Why Retreats Matter

Throughout a spiritual journey, there are moments that call for focused attention between the individual and God. Personal and group retreats at St. Mary’s Sewanee offer:

  • Freedom from distraction

  • Space for prayer and reflection

  • Peaceful grounds that nurture clarity

Church groups, leadership teams, and individuals from many denominations and organizations find renewal here before returning to daily life with greater purpose and resilience.

Will you give the gift of sacred quiet to someone in need?
