Step Into Stillness: An Introduction to Labyrinth Walking

At its most basic level the labyrinth is a metaphor for the journey to the center of your deepest self and back out into the world with a broadened understanding of who you are. ~ Guerilla Labyrinths

·         Where: St. Mary's Sewanee, 770 St. Mary's Lane, Sewanee, TN 37375

·         When: May 1, 2026 | 1:00–3:00 PM CST

·         Led by: Kara Lassen Oliver, Executive Director, St. Mary's Sewanee

On the first Saturday in May, thousands of people around the world pause to walk a labyrinth together — and we invite you to join them from our mountain.

World Labyrinth Day is an annual global celebration sponsored by The Labyrinth Society and partner organizations dedicated to the labyrinth as symbol, tool, passion, and practice. At the heart of the day is a simple, beautiful intention: that participants worldwide "Walk as One at 1" in the afternoon, creating a wave of peaceful energy around the planet as it turns in space.

Join Kara Lassen Oliver, Executive Director of St. Mary's Sewanee, for an introduction to labyrinth walking and a guided experience on our grounds. Whether you are new to this ancient moving meditation or returning to a beloved practice, all are welcome to step into stillness, connect with the global community, and walk for peace.
